I was first introduced to yoga by the Mother as a young teen. Our time together was very sacred. As my relationship with God became more personal, my practice became more intentional in its focus on Jesus Christ.  The Lord placed on my heart the desire to teach Christian Yoga. In 2010, I founded Dunamis Yoga after completing Yahweh Yoga training in Arizona and receiving my 200 hour certification as a Christ-Centered Yoga Teacher. To further my studies, deepen my practice and expand my knowledge of yoga philosophy, alignment and sequencing I received my 500-hour certification from Moksha Yoga Center in Chicago. Presently, I am working toward my Yoga For All certification offered by Dianne Bondy and Amber Karnes. I am currently registered as an E-RYT200, RYT500 with Yoga Alliance. 

DUNAMIS YOGA

DUNAMIS: A Greek word used in the New Testament that means "power" or "force." Dunamis refers to that which manifests God's Power, His majesty, mighty works, ability and strength.  


YOGA: A Sanskrit word derived from the root word "yuj" which means to yoke, join, unite, harmonize and bring together. 


In Dunamis Yoga we recognize our connection to God's  transforming power and join our body, soul and spirit together as instruments for worship of Jesus Christ.  By inviting God into our practice we express with our bodies the divine prayer that is within us. 


......we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power be of God and not of us. ~ 2 Cor. 4:7

WHAT IS CHRIST-CENTERED YOGA?

Christ-Centered Yoga is a spiritual discipline that draws us into the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, while strengthening your physical body and meditating on God's Word.  It is a practice of bodily alignment, deliberate breathing and total dependence on God. It is not a religion but a tool for spiritual growth, such as fasting, meditation and prayer. Anchored in the Holy Scriptures, with the goal of the practice is to of bring glory to God through the union of body, soul, and spirit.  


With Christ at the center of our practice, our heart's intention is authentic praise for and adoration of Him.  It is God who gives us life, health and strength. Every pose, prayer and breath is done in honor of the LORD.

Christ-Centered Yoga Practice

This unique yoga practice draws you into the presence of the Lord through centering, breathing and yoga poses that provide strength to your body and promote flexibility. As your mind quiets down and is renewed with the Word of God, peace and stillness enters your body, dissolving patterns of tension and stress while balance and well-being are naturally restored. Create space in your heart for Christ, as you rest in His Presence and release your burdens of heaviness and cares unto Him. Class is suitable for all levels.

Private yoga lessons are the perfect learning environment to give you a more intimate look into your practice and to personally address your health and wellness needs and areas of individual interest.
